FAQ

Why should I go to the fan zones?

The fan zones will be a unique celebration of Switzerland, football and all of the nations competing at WEURO25, including Cymru. As well as being a hub for the cities during the tournament they will act as an area for live entertainment and as an opportunity to meet fans from all over Europe. The fan zones are an opportunity to get as close as possible to the tournament and enjoy an amazing family friendly atmosphere.

What should I wear to the fan zone?

Whilst we want everyone to be comfortable in what they wear, we encourage everyone to wear RED in a celebration of Cymru. This is to ensure that when we walk to the stadium, it is a sea of red.

Oh, and don’t forget your bucket hat!

What times do the fan zones open?

Opening times for the fan zones are below.

Lucerne
11am – 9pm

St. Gallen
Saturdays: 11:30am – 5pm

Matchdays/Weekdays: 11:30am – 7pmSunday 6 July: Closed

I will need to take a big bag or a stroller for the walk, is there any storage for these outside the stadium?

Yes, there will be lockers to store these on the fan walks or at the stadium. Any bag bigger than A4 size will not be allowed into the stadium. For more info on what will be allowed into the stadiums, visit here.

It is unlikely that I will be able to walk the distance of the fan walk, what are my options?

Public transport is free with a match ticket and there are several options for supporters to reach the stadium.

From the fan zone in Lucerne there will be several shuttle buses to the ground, these will take ten minutes. The train from Lucerne station will get you to the ground even quicker taking only 3 minutes.

There will also be shuttle buses from St. Gallen fan zone and main bus hub that supporters can get to the stadium – these will be clearly sign posted and drop supporters off directly outside the stadium.

From these locations, supporters can see the fans walking from the stadium and join them in celebration as they arrive at the ground. Please note that public transport is likely to be very busy on matchdays, so plan well in advance.

Will the roads along the fan walks be shut to traffic?

Yes, the host cities have both worked with local traffic control to ensure that there will be no traffic on the fan walk routes. Whilst this allows for a better fan walk, please note that nearby roads may still be open to traffic.

Will there be toilets in the fan zones?

Yes, the fan zones will have toilets.

How noisy will it be in the fan zone?

It is expected to be reasonably noisy in the fan zone, with lots of people attending, music performances and activities happening simultaneously.
